The group of men were raising money for Jersey Mencap by walking from Gorey to St Martin on Saturday.

Dresses and skirts were the order of the day, but rather than completing their feminine outfits by carrying handbags, each of the walkers instead carried a heavy bag of cement on their shoulders along the route.

The annual fundraiser has been organised each year since 2012 by Jack Goguelin.

He and his brother Oli and their friends organised the fundraiser for the first time in 2012, when they decided to re-create a challenge carried out by their father, Vivian, 30 years earlier.

The brothers introduced the female fancy dress elements themselves, but the journey, from the door of the Dolphin Pub in Gorey to the Royal in St Martin, complete with 25 kg sacks of cement, remained the same as when their father and his friends did the challenge.
