Tougher cyber-crime laws would unfairly criminalise people
Jon Tarrant said changing laws to give the police more powers in the fight against cyber-bulling was not the answer.
Instead he thinks that education is the way forward.
His comments come after Assistant Chief Minister Philip Ozouf told the States Assembly during question time last week that a consultation was due to be launched in June focusing on plans to change existing laws to cover cyber-bullying.
