They will focus on those importing tobacco, with many passengers bringing in hundreds of cigarettes each time they arrive in Jersey – particularly after the last round of duty increases at the start of the year which has made buying tobacco locally more expensive.
The current duty free limit is 200 cigarettes or 250g of other tobacco products.
