Home loan scheme 'may continue – but not interest-free'

A recent pilot scheme assisted 51 individuals and families by lending them money at zero interest rates for a deposit.

Despite the fact that the scheme was originally expected to help 100 applicants onto the property ladder, it has been hailed a success by Senator Philip Ozouf, who said he would support its continuance in some form. However, next time, he said, the loans should not be interest free.
