Repair work has already begun and it is now predicted that it will take up to three months to complete.
Another storm warning has been issued for tonight. Forecasters say that a storm more intense than anything which has hit Jersey this week is likely to batter the Island tonight.
Jersey Met Office forecaster Sharon Merren said: ‘We are quite concerned about the weather tonight.
‘We are expecting the winds to veer north-west to west and pick up to severe gale force nine with gusts to 75 mph. There are no indications that the unsettled weather is going to end and we are expecting more gales or severe gales over the Channel during the weekend.’
