During a States debate this week about proposed changes to dental health schemes provided by the States, many Members used their speeches to criticise both Social Security and Health for failing to take action, despite being fully aware of the problems that exist.
In the end, Deputy Geoff Southern’s proposition to take urgent action was largely defeated, with just two out of seven recommendations approved.
Members rejected calls to change the funding structures of the schemes and open them up to higher earners but supported having a publicity campaign to promote the support that is currently available.
