A song and dance at the Palais des Glass?

From June Beslièvre.
WHY are Dandara jumping on the bandwagon of building offices to compete with those proposed further along the road?
They would gain more kudos if they built something urgently needed in Jersey – a first-class entertainment centre. Their managing director, Martin Clancy, said: ‘The design reminds me of West Park with its curves’ (JEP 28 August).
A new building based on the original design of the West Park Pavillion would fit better alongside the Grand Hotel and, with a similar first-class dance floor, could create a ballroom of a size to take world events, plus a concert hall big enough for world-class musicians and orchestras that would attract masses of people to Jersey.
For example, the great André Rieu travels the world with his Johann Strauss Orchestra and his followers go with him, bringing joy to thousands.
This would allow the present entertainment areas of Fort Regent the space to develop world-class sports activities, so Jersey would benefit in more ways than one and there would be something for everyone to enjoy – not just food.
