Last month’s affordable housing gateway waiting list, which shows how many people are waiting for suitable accommodation, showed that there were 1,340 Islanders who needed different types of social housing.
Now, Housing Minister Andrew Green has said that waiting times and the increasing demand for homes will be helped by Environment Minister Rob Duhamel’s proposed changes.
Last week he suggested that several glasshouse sites and fields were rezoned for housing projects made up of affordable and social-rented homes.
