The team, which has been continuing to investigate areas near the parish church, has found evidence of pottery dating back thousands of years.

Now, the group, which is led by the Société Jersiaise’s field archaeologist, Robert Waterhouse, has applied to extend its work to gain a wider picture of the area in the hope that they will find ancient structures or more objects.

The site was investigated last year when a medieval priory was unearthed in the region leading to the discovery of Gallo-Roman remains.
