The money raised by the Love Hearts Appeal for Great Ormond Street Hospital has been used to buy a state-of-the-art cardiac intensive care unit at the London hospital to improve the privacy and care for patients and their families.
Catherine MacLachlan (21), who received her transplant at Great Ormond Street, and her family have now turned their attention to raising funds to support research into transplant medicine and raising awareness about organ donation.
