Both were clear winners in the men’s and women’s races over the Olympic distance of a 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km.
Halksworth finished in 1hr 57min 58sec and Gorrod, a newcomer to triathlon, in 2hr 27 min.
They were among around 120 competitors taking part in either the Olympic distance event, a shorter course sprint event or relay, the swim taking place in a choppy sea at West Park, the 40km cycle around the west of the Island and the 10km run over four laps of town.
