The minister told an audience of 800 people at the Jersey Enterprise Awards on Friday that he wanted to limit and remove barriers that stifle investment, growth and job creation.
At the gala dinner at the Queen’s Hall at Fort Regent, he said that the ‘principal role of government’ was to create ‘a safe, well-regulated, but not over-regulated, environment where business can flourish’.
‘We must find ways to strike the right balance and ensure that Jersey is seen as “open for business”, a place that is business friendly and where entrepreneurs want to do business with and from,’ he said.
