The Jersey Taxi Drivers Association, which represents Jersey’s rank taxis, claim that the force has ‘totally failed’ to stop cabs pulling up on pavements in St Helier or parking in the middle of the road outside the Pomme d’Or Hotel to tout for business in the early hours of Saturdays and Sundays.

They claim that rank taxis, which queue at the nearby rank at the Weighbridge, are now losing a significant number of fares each weekend.
