Plans for masts on Minquiers and Ecréhous are scrapped

Instead the masts, which would monitor wind speeds and inform future plans for harnessing renewable energy, could be placed out to sea on outlying rocks.

The Environment department has this week submitted plans for masts in two locations, one 3 km from the main Ecréhous island and the other 6 km from the main Minquiers island.
