The smart card, similar to the Oyster card in London, will allow Islanders to top up an account and simply swipe their card to pay a fare.
The company’s marketing manager Francesca Rotheram said that the new optional system, which will be available from Easter, would make catching a bus both quicker and easier.
‘People will be able to top the cards up online or at Liberation Station,’ she said.
‘It means people won’t have to worry about having cash to catch the bus and it will also make getting on and paying a much faster process.’
