The team organising this project, led by former Senator Pierre Horsfall and supported by the Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, are hoping that the pool can be refurbished as a swimming pool and also become a tuition centre in water sports for young people and those who are disabled.
The States of Jersey Development Company have agreed to contribute another £100,000 to the project, subject to their shareholders being in agreement and a number of conditions being met.
If successful in obtaining the funds, the team will launch a public and corporate appeal for the balance of the money needed.
The parish assembly is being held at the Town Hall on Wednesday 21 November at 7 pm.
