Senator Lyndon Farnham, who unsuccessfully took his fight last year to the Privy Council in a last-ditch effort to stop the removal of four Senatorial seats, was responding to recommendations published last week by the Electoral Commission.
And, while he welcomed the draft proposals in the most part he is concerned about plans to scrap the role of Senator without consulting the public first.
He now wants a question to be added to a referendum due next year when
Islanders are likely to be asked if they agree with the final plans and, if the recommendations are adopted, if they think the Constables should still be allowed in the States.
