Senator Philip Bailhache has indicated that the reduction in the number of politicians and a shift to a four-year term of office are likely to feature in the commission’s recommendations, saying that they are two of the few issues of consensus from the 283 wide-ranging submissions it has received so far.

And he says that the commission will publish draft proposals in around a month, and then restart its consultation process to find out what Islanders think about them, before making its final recommendations by the end of the year.
