Jersey’s all-weather lifeboat was called out at 12.16 pm on Saturday following a call from a boat which was in trouble near the Minquiers, about 12 miles south-west of St Helier.
However, while the lifeboat was on its way, the leak was found and the two people on board managed to stem the intake of water. The boat returned to St Helier under its own power with the lifeboat staying close by.
Yesterday at about 2.45 pm, Jersey Coastguard received a call for help from a diver who had tripped on the deck of a boat and injured his ankle while
supporting divers about eight miles south-west of Corbière.
As a number of divers were underwater, the support boat could not leave the area. The injured man was transferred to the all-weather lifeboat, which was called to help at 3.15 pm, and taken to the shore where an ambulance was waiting.
The inshore lifeboat retrieved the other divers as they surfaced.
