In glorious sunshine, crowds lined Victoria Avenue to cheer on the 19 torchbearers as they made their way from Bel Royal to West Park and then via the Radisson Hotel to the Weighbridge.
There, after a short speech by the Bailiff, Sir Michael Birt, long distance swimmer and torchbearer Sally Minty-Gravett lit a cauldron and the torch relay was continued by former Jersey Evening Post assistant editor Anthony Lewis.
The celebrations continued with parish torch relays and sporting events, games and other entertainment throughout the Island.
