Thousands of passengers will have to find alternative means of transport after negotiations between the bus company and the union Unite over drivers’ pay failed.

A statement from Connex says: ‘Despite our efforts of negotiation with Unite, the company has not been able to stop this industrial action.

‘Consequently, we are extremely sorry to announce that we will not be able to operate the bus services (myBus and myExplorer) on Friday as well as the last services on Thursday.’
