Samarès Methodist Church to close after century of worship

Samarès Methodist Church on St Clement’s Coast Road has been a place of worship since 1903, but declining numbers mean that Sunday services are no longer viable.

Instead, the remaining members of the congregation – around 12 people – will join other churches in the area and the building will be kept by the Methodist Church as a community space.

Two groups that meet weekly at the chapel, Baby Buzz for toddlers on Monday mornings and a Friday coffee morning, will continue.
