During the last few days at least 60 readers have contacted the JEP to say they heard what sounded like a military aircraft flying extremely low over the Island.
And many readers said that the aircraft sounded so low they believed it had landed – even though the Airport was closed.
Jersey Airport initially reported that it had no record of a plane flying over the Island at the time in question. After further investigation, they discovered that an aircraft was in the air at the time – but that it was 20,000 feet high, five miles away and outside Channel Islands airspace.
