St John Constable Phil Rondel says he wants answers after accident investigators revealed that the master in charge of the vessel when it crashed was not qualified to operate in Jersey.
Mr Rondel will ask questions of Senator Maclean in the States tomorrow to try to establish whether his department – which is responsible for Harbours – has passed that information to the insurers and whether Economic Development were in possession of it at the time they submitted the claim.
‘If it is the case that the insurance company have not been informed, that is a resigning matter,’ Mr Rondel said. ‘They should be keeping the insurance company informed of anything that might be relevant.’
