Four new bikes costing a total of £37,600 were bought to re-introduce motorbike patrols across the Island. The use of police motorbikes was phased out in 2004.
Chief Inspector John Sculthorp said bikes were at times faster than cars at getting to crime scenes or traffic accidents.
