The Environment department has announced that a deal has been struck with developer SAM Homes, and that the families will be able to buy the properties at Uplands at Mont a l’Abbé at the original prices promised.

The families had expected to move into the homes under the Homebuy scheme, paying a reduced price of £275,000 for the houses instead of the full price of £425,000.

But those deals collapsed over the breakdown of the Homebuy scheme.

Since then, several politicians have been trying to negotiate a deal.
