While almost 2,000 others took on the gruelling 26.2 mile STandard Chartered Jersey marathon course either as part of a five-person relay team or as individuals, an estimated 351 others ran around St Helier for the fun event.
The fun run was open to anyone aged over nine and all competitors received a race goodie bag and a commemorative medal and T-shirt. On-the-spot prizes were also awarded for the best fancy dress costumes.
Finley Wright (15) from Hautlieu won the race with a time of nine minutes and 58 seconds, ahead of William Brown and Jack Peggie, both aged 12.
The race was started by former JEP assistant editor Anthony Lewis, who completed the marathon over several days last year despite being left disabled after suffering a stroke.
