In temperatures well into the 20s, runners left the Weighbridge in stages in the morning, with the main race starting at 9 am, to pound the streets of the 26.2 mile course.
For some, it was a fiercely competitive event and the culmination of a year of hard training. For others, it was just an opportunity to raise money for charity.
More than 260 relay teams also took part, with runners completing the race in stages.
And hundreds of youngsters enjoyed taking part in the JEP-sponsored 3 km fun run around St Helier.
