Delegates to the Institute of Directors’ annual debate heard Senator Freddie Cohen speak enthusiastically in favour of the partnership principle – through which government co-operates with business to fund and realise capital projects.

Senator Cohen floated the idea of a ‘Jersey Infrastructure Investment Fund’ as a means of speeding the delivery of new projects and ensuring that the States act as a catalyst to develop effective joint initiatives with the private sector.

He was opposed by Senator Francis Le Gresley, who, like Senator Cohen, is a candidate in next month’s States election.
