That figure includes the costs of prosecuting him and the appeals and civil cases he has brought, Tim Le Cocq said in response to questions from Senator Terry Le Main.
He said that external costs arising from the prosecutions between 2009 and this year amounted to not less than £384,347, that the effective cost of the Solicitor General handling civil actions was £67,000 and that the cost of outside judges to handle the cases was a further £27,000.
Former Senator Syvret was convicted of contempt of court, motoring offences and breaking the Data Protection Law at the end of a long trial – his pending jail sentence for contempt was reduced on appeal last month to community service.
