Hoping to regain the Challenge Trophy, after gut-wrenching 10.5-9.5 defeats last year at La Moye and in 2009 at L’Ancresse, the Jersey team will take on the Sarnians in matchplay games over two days at the Royal Guernsey Golf Club.
Jersey manager Steven Bowen said: ‘I am very confident in the team we have selected and we are going there with a really strong group of players who I think will do really well. But this competition is never going to be easy and you never know what is going to happen.’
Andy Clarke, Craig Neilson, James Birch and Nick Wildman are the only returning players from the Reds’ side of last year. Sam Crenan, Gavin O’Neill and Richard Ramskill return and there are recalls for Bob Wickings, Matthew Parkman and Island champion Trevor Gray with Chris Young reserve.
