With just four seats to be decided on Wednesday 19 October, the candidates standing are: Sir Philip Bailhache, Advocate Rose Colley, Senator Freddie Cohen, Linda Corby, Lyndon Farnham, Dr Mark Forskitt, Deputy Ian Gorst, Sylvia Lagadu, Senator Francis Le Gresley, Darius Pearce, David Richardson, Stuart Syvret and Chris Whitworth.
The Senatorial election takes place on Wednesday 19 October, with the polls open from 8 am to 8 pm, and a full schedule of hustings meetings for the usual parish roadshow will be announced soon.
This year’s Senatorial election carries with it a number of unusual elements, including the unprecedented prospect of a former Bailiff returning to the States Chamber as an elected politician, the attempted political comeback by Stuart Syvret after 18 months out of the States Chamber, and the 11th-hour decision by the former Environment Minister Freddie Cohen to stand again.
And unusually, there are only three sitting Members in the running, which means that there will be at least one fresh face on the Senatorial benches for the next three years.
