Swimmers Emily Bashforth (15), Giovanni Gaurino (15) and Ella Dias (15) were joined by discus thrower Shadine Duquemin (16). The quartet travelled to Sheffield, England to compete against some of the brightest starlets in UK sport over the weekend.
Bashforth came away with a first place to her name in the girls 100m freestyle, breaking the Island record in the process while Gaurino claimed top prize as part of the England South boys team who won the 400m medley relay, also breaking two Island records in his events.
Fellow swimmer Dias achieved personal bests in her events, one of them, the 400 metre IM, breaking her own Junior Island record.
Elsewhere in the athletics events, Duquemin proved frighteningly dominant in the girls’ discus, powering to victory by over seven metres as she threw 44.14m.
