The 17-year-old has continued his good form into the last eight of the competition in Roehampton after beating fellow qualifier David Fox, who earlier put out the eighth seed, 6-2, 6-0.

With five games under his belt Clayton now takes on Benjamin Lott for a spot in the semi-finals of this prestigious tournament.

There are no easy matches at this level and Lott will provide a tough test having knocked out the third seed Evan Hoyt yesterday in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
