The former politician is appealing against his conviction in the Magistrate’s Court for data protection, motoring and contempt of court offences, as well as a ten-week prison sentence he was given.

Mr Syvret said that during the police raid, for which there was no warrant, the police had seized his laptop computer because the Jersey authorities wanted to discredit former police chief Graham Power and deputy police chief Lenny Harper.
