After facing severe financial difficulty in recent years, Jersey Heritage had to take drastic action to save money. Opening hours at some sites were reduced, some sites were closed for the winter, the group began charging pensioners and young children for memberships and some employees were made redundant.

The recently released 2010/2011 review, however, shows that Jersey Heritage is reaping the benefits of the changes.

Speaking about some of the changes, Jon Carter, the director of Jersey Heritage, said that the organisation had broken its membership target for 2011 within the first six weeks of the year.
