Environment Minister Freddie Cohen said that he supported plans to demolish 9 La Motte Street and 35-37 Hilgrove Street – currently used for storage and car parking – to build the flats, but asked that the scheme be reduced in height by one floor.

The proposal by Naish Waddington Architects currently includes two main apartment blocks – block A facing Hilgrove Street, which is seven storeys and block B, facing La Motte Street, a five- to six-storey building.
