For the 15-strong contingent includes Stefan McGreevy who at the age of 37 has inherited the title of Jersey’s oldest swimmer to be selected for a Games.
Jersey team
Lotte de Wit (17): 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke. Jersey resident who is a student at Collingwood School in Canada. Making her Games debut and hopes to use the Isle of Wight to qualify for the Canadian Olympic trials and medal in her events.
Did you know? When Lotte first started swimming four years’ ago she was scared of diving off the block because it felt too high.

Maria Kocot (14): 50m butterfly; 100m individual medley and relays. Les Quennevais school student. Represented the Island in the Jeux des Iles and won three medals. Going to her first Games with hopes of qualifying for the finals and setting personal bests.
Did you know? Maria has also represented Jersey for athletics.
Sporting idol: 50m freestyle Olympic medallist Britta Steffen.
Emily Bashforth (15): 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m freestyle; 200m, 400m IM plus relays. Beaulieu student who makes her debut in the Isle of Wight. Won seven individual medals in last year’s Jeux des Iles and has qualified for the Nationals for the last three years.
Did you know? Emily made British Championships 800 free in 2010.

Kerrie Smith (17): 50m, 100m backstroke and relays. Hautlieu student going to her second Games having won a silver in 200m backstroke in Aland 2009. A National qualifier seven years running and Jeux Des Iles 2007 representative and medal winner. Hopes to reach the finals in her individual events.
Did you know? Kerrie has a fear of snakes, spiders and the dark.

JJ Gallichan (19): 200m, 400m, 1,500m freestyle and relays. Liverpool John Moores University student. Going to his third Games with eight medals to his name and one mission: to challenge the Faroe Island’s Pal Joensen, a World Championship swimmer, for the freestyle medals. Last year in the 1,500m freestyle he won bronze at the Youth Nationals and silver in the BUCS Championships. This year he was fourth in the 800m at the Nationals.
Did you know? JJ holds Island records in all three of his freestyle events.
Sporting idol: Grant Hackett.
Tom Gallichan (18): 100m, 200m freestyle; 50m, 100m, 200m backstroke plus relays. Highland College student going to a second Games having won a bronze individually last time around. Youth Commonwealth competitor and bronze medallist at the UK Schools as well as a Jeux des Iles multi-medallist. Aiming for an Island freestyle record and to go under two minutes in the 200m back.
Did you know? Tom beat Liam Tancock (a world record holder) in the 2008 Olympic trials.

Charlotte Manning (17): Breast-stroke swimmer. Highlands College student going to her second Games having won silver in Aland 2009. The former Jeux des Iles and Commonwealth Youths swimmer hopes to have fun, set PBs and maybe even medal.
Did you know? Charlotte was the only swimmer to make a final in the Commonwealth Youths. She also likes to help build floats for the Battle of Flowers.
Sporting idol: Sharron Davies.
Stefan McGreevy (37): 50m, 100m butterfly; 50m freestyle and relays. Operations director for a hedge fund manager. Member of the England youth swimming team 20 years ago who is making his Games debut. His aim is to try and keep a record of how many times someone makes reference to his age for a competitive swimmer.
Did you know? Stefan claims he is actually 21! Really he is a keen angler and member of the Island water polo team.
Sporting idol: Martin Johnson.
Gio Guarino (14): 50m, 100m, 200m breast-stroke; 100m butterfly. De La Salle College student. Going to first Games and hopes to improve and get more Youth Commonwealth Games times. A finalist in the National 100m and 200m breast-stroke who won his ASA British Championship age group in the same event. He is 50m-200m Hampshire breast-stroke champion and Island record holder.
Did you know? Gio claims to be an amazing dancer.
Beth Cumming (15): 100m, 200m free; 50m, 100m, 200m breast-stroke. Beaulieu Convent student and teacher at Langford pool on Saturdays. Games debutante who has represented Jersey in the Jeux des Iles and won bronze and silver. Winner of the ladies’ 16 and over 50m freestyle trophy and hoping to make a final and win a medal in the Isle of Wight.

Antoin Le Fevre (26): 50m, 100m freestyle; 50m breast-stroke plus relays. Team captain. Teacher assistant at Les Quennevais School. Won two silver and one bronze medal in Aland 2009 and hopes to make his family, friends and coaches proud with his performances as well as beating Guernsey.
Did you know? Antoin has trained under both Jersey Swimming Club and AIB Tigers and likes to dabble in most energetic sports although he admits he doesn’t master any.

Henry Job (15): 50 butterfly; 50m, 100m, 200m backstroke; 400m, 1,500 freestyle and relays. Victoria College student. Going to his first Games and hoping to make some finals.
Did you know? Henry won his inter-school’s javelin competition.
Sporting idol: Mark Lewis Francis.
Declan Bourke (15): 100m, 200m breast-stroke; 100m, 200m, 400m IM and relays. Victoria College student who has chosen to be one of the water bearers at this, his first Games where he hopes to qualify for finals and thinks it would be fantastic to get a medal. Came fifth in the National Age Groups in the 200m breast-stroke last year and has qualified for this year’s event as well as the British Championships.
Did you know? Declan accidently kicked Liam Tancock in the warm down pool at
the British Championships in March 2011 and doesn’t think that he was too
pleased.
Sporting idol: Michael Phelps.
Ebony Jacklin (18): 50m freestyle; 50m, 100m butterfly and relays. Girls’ captain. Highlands College student. Going to her third Games having won individual gold in the 50m fly and bronze in the 50m free. Hopes to try and make the final for her individual swims as well as trying to swim them in personal bests.
Did you know? Before Ebony started swimming she represented Jersey in
the schools inter-insular for several
years.

Ella Dias (14): 100m, 200m, 400m IM; 400m, 800m free; 200m backstroke; 100m, 200m butterfly. Jersey College for Girls student. Has won seven Jeux des Iles medals, a silver at British Nationals (800m aged 12) and qualified for the Youth Commonwealths. Going to her first Games and hoping to have a good experience and hopefully medal.
Did you know? Ella has represented Jersey for running 800m and 1,500m.
