That is the view of Mortgage Shop managing director Peter Seymour.
In the wake of a UK survey that found that 60% of respondents believe it is very hard or even virtually impossible for first-time buyers to get a mortgage, Peter Seymour has confirmed that a similar lack of confidence exists in Jersey.
He said: ‘There’s a perception among potential homebuyers and the public in general that the banks are not lending, but as a company that arranges mortgages for hundreds of people every year, we’re finding that the opposite is true.’
