The number of other contracts in existence with similar golden handshake deals at the end will also not be revealed.

This year, for the first time, severance pay will appear in the States accounts for 2011 as well as a list of senior employees, their annual salary and pension benefits.

Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf, who refused to answer questions on Mr Ogley’s pay-out specifically, said that details of such cases would only ever be released in exceptional circumstances.
