The knitted lace gown, which is said to have first ignited Prince William’s interest in Miss Middleton, sold for £78,000 at an auction in London yesterday.
But all that is known about the dress’s new owner is that he is called Nick and he lives in Jersey.
The dress, worn by the future Queen at a University of St Andrews fashion show attended by Prince William in 2002, was only expected to fetch between £8,000 and £10,000 at the highly anticipated auction.
