Two-horse race for the post of our next Chief Minister?

Both Senators had been linked with the top job, which will fall vacant after the autumn general election.

With just nine months to go before the first same-day elections for Senators, Deputies and Constables, the contest to succeed Senator Terry Le Sueur as Chief Minister is already shaping up as a two-horse race between front-runner Senator Philip Ozouf, the Treasury Minister, and Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand.

Neither will face the electorate this year, as they are both half-way through their six-year Senatorial terms.
