A weekend of airport chaos

Heavy snowfall over the last few days shut runways in Jersey and Guernsey and at many of the Island’s main gateways, including Gatwick and Southampton.

Airlines have been forced to bring in extra staff to cope with the surge in telephone calls as passengers have tried to re-arrange their travel plans.

Although most airports were expected to re-open today, passengers have been warned to expect delays and cancellations.
