The problems began soon after snow began to fall on Saturday, when the Airport closed and some buses stopped running.
A lightning strike at Les Platons also affected the radar system which monitors air traffic movement. A back-up system and Guermsey’s radar are having to be used until this is repaired.
The town centre appeared to be quieter than normal at the weekend, as many Islanders opted not to drive or venture outside in the icy conditions. Town traders reported mixed results, however.
More than 20 tonnes of salt were used on Jersey’s roads this weekend, with Transport and Technical Services working hard to get to to priority areas.
