Not content with seriously delaying all the UK and Guernsey competitors with a week of gales prior to the weekend the horrific weather then did its best to try and wash out the Saturday with torrential rain.
Nevertheless the event went ahead with a full entry of over 90 UK, Guernsey and local riders.The rains on Saturday also made the going very tough with some of the less experienced riders not completing the full course.
However, quality will out, and Wiggins, the 2009 South Western Champion dominated the expert route class to take the win from current European Champion Alex Wigg. Jerseyman Adam Le Cheminant rode superbly throughout the weekend to claim third spot.
