Taking place on Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall, the competition is considered one of the largest surf events in the world with over 350 students taking part.
Lemprière, who is studying for a teaching degree, surfed well to get through to the ladies’ finals after three days of surfing in varied conditions.
On the opening day great waves met the competitors as they contested the heats while on day two a crowd of more than two thousand watched as the rounds progressed.
On the final day conditions were tricky as the waves stayed small but Lemprière performed well and managed to clinch an individual bronze medal, finishing third behind top UK surfers Gwen Spurlock of Swansea University and Holly Donnelly from Plymouth.
This result earned team Exeter crucial points and Lemprière had the honour of lifting the trophy after they topped the podium in the ladies’ team event.
