Nick Romeril’s Baitball, an interpretation of a shoal of glistening fish, was formally handed over to Islanders at a ceremony outside the former Carlton Hotel in Havre des Pas.
The work was commissioned through the Percentage for Art scheme, which encourages developers with building projects over a certain size to erect a piece of public art.
The Carlton Hotel and Cockles restaurant were demolished and developers Antler Homes have built 29 flats there.
