The Housing Department has received the cash from the £44m fiscal stimulus fund launched last year to help create and safeguard jobs during the recession.
More than £850,700 will be spent on replacing roofs, windows and doors at Wellington Park in St Saviour. The properties, which were built between 1930 and 1950, will also receive new gutters, rainwater pipes, water storage tanks and loft insulations. Chimneys will also be repaired.
Similar work will be carried out on a 1980s block of flats at Grasett Park in St Saviour. More than £40,000 will be spent on replacing roofs, repairing chimneys and gutters and improving loft insulation.
Almost £129,000 will be spent on replacing roofs and refurbishing windows at properties at St Martin’s Arsenal, and double-glazing will be fitted at 11 flats in Vincent Court in St Helier.
