Should volcanic ash from Iceland continue to prevent air travel between Jersey and the UK, the Taunton side will arrive by sea on Friday.

JRFC chairman Bill Dempsey has already been in touch with Taunton RFC’s director of rugby, Lee Waddon, who has said that ‘secondary arrangements’ are being put in place to ensure the game goes ahead.

Although this would mean the team having to spend Friday night in a local hotel, it would also mean that the team would have the benefit of a good night’s sleep and final Saturday morning preparation before Saturday’s game.
