It is understood that the new asking price for the site will be around £9 million – well above the £1.8 million plus estimated profit share of £1.5 million that ministers proposed in 2007.

The only difference is that the new sale agreement includes the Centrepoint site at the back of the JCG building.

In 2007 the then Treasury Minister, Terry Le Sueur, agreed the sale in principle but the States blocked it after Deputy Rob Duhamel raised concerns that it was being sold too cheaply.
